Go.

It's get-the-proposal-out-in-record-time day here at Initech. Rush, rush, rush. It's awful.

Alive with new colors!

My little mom flies to China tomorrow. Tonight, shrimp po'boys with her and the family. It's the little things in life. The battered, deep-fried things, and moms, in this case. As it is, as it is.

Realized just now that I eat a lot of green foods. Pesto, split pea soup, avocados. Love them. Gimme gimme green.

I no know.

Grown women should not call the restroom "the little girl's room." No sir. It's just gross.

Attention everyone: please stop calling white girls "chicas." Thank you.

Didn't want to break the black and white theme, but this was too pretty. By: Amy Casey, via.

FUCK GOD DAMMIT. I had a great little scene pop into the old head last night while watching television on the internet. Was too lazy to get up and go get my little notebook. Now it's gone, gone gone gone. Ah jeez. Ah well.

Fried eggs day!

I've had The Cars' "Drive" stuck in my head for a few days. You know the one: "Who's gonna drive you home..."

I received a happy surprise in the mail yesterday. I used to work for Puma, years ago, see. One day, I got an invitation to participate in a class-action lawsuit because Puma didn't pay someone their overtime wages as they should have. I had recently worked a 24-hour inventory shift (no shit, I know) and was pretty mad at the company so I checked that "Sure, those fucks didn't pay me" box. Well, lo, a year later I got a check for $1000! And, behold, yesterday I got another check for $300! Amazing! Thank you, Puma! Thank you for all the money! Makes up for the sub-fashionable shit I had to wear for dress-code! Terrific! So today I'm online-shopping to spend a piece of that pie. Yippy skippy, really.

It's been a good many hours and I haven't found anything online to buy. I think I'm like those CEOs. The more money I have, the tighter my grip.

And by the way, fuck Harajuku Lovers. Seriously, right?

Oh, look. She's waiting for someone. I hope it's a girl cuz girl friends do not give each other flowers often enough. By: Gus Powell, via.

I have been reading the Texas Department of Criminal Justice's website, where they keep all the executed prisoners' last statements. Oof. You know, the rapists and the child-killers all say something about Jesus. Curious.

Do the humpty hump.

Not to be incredibly shallow but don't you hate it when clothing sites don't tell you the brand of each piece? It matters. Sorry, but it do.

Ah, the woods do call quietly. By: Greta Anderson, via.

In happy news, I bought this wonderful shirt just now. Disregard the cheesy model. I'm sure people like her in LA.

Can you believe I have to go through every file on our shared drive here at work to check if our old domain name is on any documents? Every file. 'S taken around 16 hours so far. No end in sight. Grumble.

Broohaha.

My life is broken up into a few groups of tasks that I maintain. Work, obviously, is one unto itself. Then, personally, I have writing (which is most important), internet readings, social obligations, and house chores. Mondays are the days when all of these things become noticeably neglected. Laundry is undone, I didn't do enough work on Friday, I read zero internet over the weekend, I do not have as much of this book written as I should. Oh, woe. Oh, whoa. I did cook a nice meal and have a beautiful and magical time out of the city with my dear boy, so all is not lost, not one bit.

Anyway.

Get it out of there!

Today is a data entry day but tonight I leave for a nice two-night stay at Grand Lodge. Soaking pool, fancy breakfast, love. Ah, love.

And a one, and a two.

Alright, let's try this again, day. Can't be worse than yesterday. After this mug of tea, it's all hot cocoa with a coffee whisper from here on out. For now, bagel and yogurt. So far so good.

Well, isn't that nice? I made some reports and some reservations and the new project manager said, "Thanks for all your help today, Emma. I'm not used to having someone like you around and I really appreciate all you do." NOW THAT'S THE SPIRIT! :D

Doritos for breakfast. Naw, don't care. Have at it, stomach.

Laser-cut dollar bills :o By: Scott Campbell, via. As far as I can tell, that's a stack. Hoooooey, that is pretty neat.

This picture fills me full of wonderment. Via: BEGINBEING, who didn't really credit it, as far as I can tell.

Never shop bids, Emma, never.

Be positivepositivepositive. It's Monday, Mondays are shit, and everything pisses me off. I shall avoid this by remaining up-beat, mm-hmm. And eating small delicious snacks every few hours. And hot chocolate with a whisper of coffee in it.

ONWARD!

In other news, I'm trying to drink three pints of water a day and floss/brush my teeth at night. I always brush in the mornings, of course, but at night I just wanna continue lying in bed, you know? You know. And also, don't you hate it when what you've brought to work for lunch is just not what you feel like eating? Who's to know?

It is nearing my final hour here at ye olde work desk and I see I haven't found a single image to post up today. Oh, woe. Don't worry. Tomorrow shall be. On the morrow.

OH MAN I FORGOT TO HAVE HOT COCOA. Sheesh.

Whirling Dervish

It's potluck Friday here at Initech (that's not the name of the company I work for. If you're unfamiliar, download/rent Office Space. You're welcome.) My lunch plate currently holds: Veg with dip, macaroni salad, potato salad, coleslaw, nachos, artichoke dip/crackers, pizza, curry chicken, and rice. Oh man. Ohhhhhhhhh MAN I love potluck day.

There's so many things I like over at Booooooom!. I read around 300 blog posts in 20 different blogs every day (in between "Good morning, Initech...JUST a moMENT!") but Booooooom! gets the nod over and over again, they are so good. Photo by: Hin Chua, viazzzzzzz.

By: Tobias Schalken, via. There is something familiar and warm about cabins for me. My mom, between marriages, moved all us kids out to one in rural forested California when I was small. I remember standing in clearings, the crisp sunrays and bird noises mesmerizing me for long stretches of time. I found that calm place inside when I was pretty young and I appreciate that.

It's Fridayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, time to play.

well, hell.

More fillings today. The fillings of cavities with a tooth-like substance. This will all be over in a couple years, I'm told.

I got this from BEGINBEING but they didn't credit it, so...

We'll be back after this small work-related madness:
Sometimes I think y'all should just do things on your own, like regular adults. At home, you're the one that puts a new roll of toilet paper on and replenishes the paper towels, right? When you go to Kinko's, you press the green go button on the copy machines yourself, right? Oh wait, oh no, that's right. Y'all got wives to do that for you. Right right. Ah, sorry. Sigh.

Have at it...

I'm working out the kinks here at Let's Like Like. With the formatting and all. Really, I need a couple of my own domain names. The one for Stories for Humans is more important, though, probably. Since that's my CRAFT and all. Haha, craft.

This morning I had an email from one of my bosses in my inbox. It said, "Emma, can you make a reservation at Toro Bravo?" No time, no date, no number of people. Sigh. SIGH.

This is what my mouth would have started looking like if I had not gone to the dentist a couple months ago. It's just awful when your tongue turns into a sleeping bag, really. Food is so bland and children like to crawl right in and take naps. Mmm, naps. One of my favorite things is to take morning naps with my dear boy. Wake up, say good morning, talk about the day, go back to sleep for a half hour or so. Get up. Put water on. Flip some shiny eggs. Have at it. (Oh! By: Richard Hughes, via.)

This is actually a diorama. Steel wool, cotton, ground parsley, and moss. I'm impressed, as you should be. By: Matthew Albanese, via.

Donut-hole

Someone :o has taken issue with the formatting on Let's Like Like. Well! We'll work on that, I suppose I suppose.

Some dudes
are covering a house in Detroit with ice as a statement on our current economical times. Impressive and sweet looking.

I have been slacking on writing. Over the weekend, yesterday, and today. It ain't good. I'm giving myself some slack, though, as I know these things go in waves and it's best not to force it. Kind-of like romance.

Etiquette is Subtle, I Guess.

Today is challenging, sort-of. I ain't as gung-ho as the rest.

It does stay light out 'til quarter after five now, though, and that makes me happy as a bird.
